PIA Vietnam 2011 will be the third show to address the country’s growing demand for upgrading its R&D, educational, healthcare and manufacturing industries. The 2011 show comprises three components (Process Vietnam has now become a vertical industry show to focus on opportunities in  the processing, filling and supply for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics
industries): Pharmatech Vietnam 2011, Instrument Vietnam 2011 and  Analysis & Lab Vietnam 2011.
The combination of three shows in one highlights the opportunities in Vietnam for technologies and applications which are in demand as specifiers and investors respond to the country’s increasing position as a global supplier of consumer and industrial goods. The upgrading of manufacturing processes by local enterprises, combined with growing Foreign Direct Investment offers opportunities to suppliers already established in the ASEAN market and to those sectors specific to the Vietnamese economy. 
Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry has been growing at an annual rate of 14-15% according to the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association. By 2020 the market is expected to be worth US$ 3.5 billion. The government is particularly keen to attract foreign investment in the manufacturing and R&D processes. In 2008 Vietnam registered 180 pharmaceutical factories,
75% of which met GMP standards and 25% of which were foreign invested. In 2007 local pharmaceutical production was valued at US$ 560 million, with local production meeting half of domestic demand.
PIA Vietnam 2011 will again be co-located with ProPak Vietnam to ensure strong attendance from Vietnam’s fast growing food and beverage processing, filling, handing and packaging industries. 
The show will be organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd, members of the Allworld Exhibition Alliance, cooperation with the local partners VietCham Expo, member of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The event will take place at the new state-of-the-art SECC in Ho Chi Minh City from 23–25 March 2011. The shows are open from 09.00-17.00 hours.
