LUM's Demixing Tester LUMiCheck® complements the dispersion analysis - POWTECH 6-114

The NEW Demixing Tester LUMiCheck® complements the LUM GmbH portfolio of measuring instruments for dispersion analysis and particle characterization.

L.U.M. at POWTECH 2010

We welcome you during POWTECH 2010 in Hall 6 Stand 6-114 to present you the LUMiCheck® and further inovative measurement instrumentation for the comprehensive characterization of dispersions and particles.

Demixing Tester LUMiCheck - Your first step in dispersion analysis.

LUMiCheckThe LUMiCheck® is designed for the quality assurance lab.

It is used for the uncomplicated, comparative stability analysis and particle characterization of dispersions in their original state (without sample preparation or dilution). The fast quantitative comparison of different samples and the qualitative characterization of demixing behaviour, flocculation, sediment formation and stability make LUMiCheck® the instrument of choice for the measurement of beverages and food, construction material, fuel and lubricants, and generally speaking for a large variety of emulsions and suspensions.

The determination of the hydrodynamic density of nano- and microparticles, dispersed in liquid media, based on the float-sink method, opens new application fields for the LUMiCheck®.

Separation Analyser LUMiReader - Add objectivity to your view.

LUMiReaderThe Separation Analyser LUMiReader® characterizes the demixing of suspensions and emulsions for a large range of particle sizes under original conditions, e.g. sedimentation, flocculation and clarification.

An up to 10 times physically accelerated sample demixing is achieved by applying a patented measuring principle, without applying mechanical force onto the dispersion. On the one hand, rapidly demixing systems can be characterized in an objective and automatic way with high sensitivity. Compared with the human eye it may happen 100-500 times faster, due to the high resolution and the inclination principle. On the other hand, the LUMiReader® is used for the analytical long-term monitoring of emulsions and suspensions, to characterize processes like coalescence and Ostwald ripening in real-time.

Stability Analyser LUMiFuge - The only direct and accelerated stability analysis.

LUMiFugeThe analytical multisample centrifuge LUMiFuge® accelerates the demixing of emulsions and suspensions up to 2300 times.

This enables fast stability tests of high concentrated dispersions in minutes and hours instead of days, months and years. The almost unlimited applicability of the LUMiFuge® includes the fingerprinting of dispersions, the simple stability ranking and the calculation of the shelf-life of long-term stable samples.

LUMiFuge® has been sold for more than 10 years and is part of standard instrumentation in chemical, food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and other industries around the world.

Dispersion Analyser LUMiSizer - The complete dispersion lab in one instrument

LUMiSizerThe Dispersion Analyser LUMiSizer® made by L.U.M. GmbH is the complete dispersion lab in just one instrument.

The LUMiSizer® simultaneously determines the demixing of 12 different dispersions at original concentration, based on the patented STEP-Technology®. Due to the acceleration of the demixing in the LUMiSizer® up to a factor of 2300, information about e.g. colloidal stability, surfactant influence, particle size, agglomeration and flocculation of dispersions is obtained in drastically shortened time. The variation of the centrifugal field provides in addition, comparable to a falling sphere viscometer, first information about the rheological behaviour of a dispersion.

The fast characterization of any demixing and consolidation, the calculation of the velocity distribution as well as of the particle size distribution make the LUMiSizer® the instrument of choice for research and development, for process optimization and quality control in nanotechnology and in e.g. food, ceramic, cosmetic, paint and chemical industries.

LUM Courses 2010 - Cross-analytical characterization of dispersions and particles.

User seminars and application days, organized by LUM in collaboration with other companies and research institutions, focus on the comprehensive and cross-analytical characterization of nano- and microdispersions.

A user seminar in German language focussing on "2D/3D Rheologie und Stabilität von dispersen Systemen" will take place in Potsdam, Germany from 5.5.-7.5.2010. Customers from industry and research will report on their application. The seminar participants can solve tasks from real life in several case studies.

The popular application days (in German) about cross-analytical characterization of nano- and microdispersions with respect to stability parameters and particle size take place for the next time in Berlin, Germany on 8.6.2010 and in Oberhausen, Germany on 28.9.2010.

Kindly contact your local LUM distributor to learn about seminars in your country.
